Modern textile machines are becoming more and more complex and require extended skills with regard to operation and maintenance on the part of all employees, especially the older ones. How can we make an older workforce fit for the future with digital support systems?
At the joint stand of the research groups Soziotex and Tech4Age at the "5 to 12" RWTH Science Night on November 9, 2018, every visitor could try out for himself how support systems, such as mixed reality glasses, can make complex systems easier to grasp and how employees can be assisted in dealing with networked production systems.
"We are delighted to be able to provide answers to the complex questions of our time through cooperation within and between the research groups," explains Dr. Fabian Schreiber, head of the Soziotex junior research group at the Institute for Textile Technology at RWTH Aachen University (ITA).
The "5 to 12" RWTH Science Night took place on 9 November 2018 in the C.A.R.L. auditorium. Every year, around 6,000 visitors enjoy the extensive research programme of the Science Night.
