The 1st International Conference on Cellulose Fibres was a complete success


The 1st International Conference on Cellulose Fibres took place from 11 - 12 February .2020 in Cologne, Germany, organised by the nova-Institut. The ITA acted as co-organizer.


The target group of the conference were scientists and industrial companies along the process chain from cellulose/pulp production to cellulose-based textiles or paper.

With 210 participants from industry and science and 15 exhibitors from 26 countries the event was a great success.

The conference addressed the following issues:

  • What are the latest technology and market trends?
  • What are the future market dynamics? Who is active and interested in this sector?
  • What are the main challenges in the development of value chains and market demand?
  • What ecosystems and partnerships are needed to drive innovation according to market needs?

"The results from this conference will support new collaborations for cellulose research in the textile sector at ITA and in communication B2B and B2C", explains Division Manager Dr Sascha Schriever motivated. "Now we can intensify existing collaboratons together with our partners and actively shape and lead cellulose fibre research".

The next Cellulose Fibres Conference will take place from 02 - 03 February 2021 in Cologne, Germany.
