Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Textil vernetzt
The Mittelstand-Kompetenzzentrum Textil vernetzt has been offering digitisation services and AI support for textile SMEs since 2017. Now the ITA has developed a readiness assessment together with partners.
The readiness assessment serves to estimate the value of your data from your production. Based on the results you can also deduce in which areas you can quickly improve the usability of your data.
To better assess the value of your production data, please participate here.
Every company and every production is different. This is particularly true for the textile sector. Depending on the company, it may make sense to carry out the assessment separately for different areas of production. This procedure is particulary useful, if:
- The production in the company is multi-level (e.g.: weaving and finishing)
- Different processes are carried out in parallel (e.g. weaving and knitting)
- Sections of production differ considerably in terms of:
- Knowledge about the raw materials used, in particular their measured quality values
- Data acquisition during the processing of raw materials in the production process (e.g.: settings, speeds and environmental conditions)
- Completeness of the quality data for the product (e.g.: continuous quality measurement in the process compared to random sampling in the laboratory)
- Feedback from customers on the product and its suitability for use

Prof. Thomas Gries (ITA) commented: "Thanks to the promotion of BMWi, through our learning factory, we are able to demonstrate to the German textile industry in a very practical way the endless opportunities and possibilities available through the technological leap via industry 4.0 offers and the path towards its implementation."
