4th International Glass Fiber Symposium

Monday, 29 October 2018, 3 pm, until Wednesday, 31 October 2018, 5 pm

In the high-modulus fibre market, glass fibres are by far the most widely used reinforcing fibres with a market share of over 95%. This corresponds to a production volume of approximately 5 million tons of glass fibres per year (Source: Lucintel (Ed.): Growth Opportunities in the Global Glass Fiber Market, April 2017). Through the 4th International Glass Fiber Symposium from October 29 to 31, 2018 in Aachen, the Institut für Textiltechnik (ITA) of RWTH Aachen University enables companies and experts from research and industry to use the latest methods and techniques in glass fibre production for their business.
The symposium deals with the entire process chain of glass fibres, from the raw materials to the finished composite component. Experts from industry and research from all over the world will meet this year for the fourth time in Aachen to present and discuss current research topics.
The symposium will focus on the networking of industry and research as well as inter-industrial exchange. The aim is to exchange the latest research and development results, acquire new customers and initiate joint research projects.
Participants in the symposium will receive the latest information on the latest trends in glass research, the production of glass fibres, research on sizings and surface treatment as well as on glass fibre-reinforced composites.
