In the week between August 28 and September 1, 2017 the general assembly, inaugural and closing event as well as the graduation ceremony took place within the scope of the UNITECH International network.
RWTH Aachen is a member of this network which consists of nine renowned European universities and, momentarily, 20 industry partners. The aim of the association is to allow students to engage in current industry-related debates and questions by offering exchange semesters, internships as well as coaching and workshops. The program is especially valuable because it promotes especially qualified students who, besides developing their technical expertise, are able to gain management and practical experiences.
For the ca. 80 students of the 2016/2017 cohort, the program kicked off in Lyon in the shape of a coaching week. For the students of the 2015/2016 cohort, the UNITECH year concluded after exchange and internship with a simultaneous coaching event.
The program week was further enriched by a new workshop centred around the topic Industry 4.0 „Connected World – UNITECH meets Digitalisation“ which was held by Professor Thomas Gries, Chairman of ITA and academic director of oft he UNITECH Program at RWTH Aachen University,
The graduation ceremony presented a festive conclusion of the week, during which the UNITECH students celebrated their graduation. Active students of the program as well as members of the network were invited to the event.
