ITA wins first prize of AC²-foundation competition


Aachen, Germany, 1 June 2017                                 The founders Alexander Lüking, Dr Davide Pico, Dr Wilhelm Steinmann, Dr Gunnar Seide und Prof Dr Thomas Gries received the first prize of the AC² foundation, growth, innovation 2016/2017 initiative for their project „AeroFib“.

The project is a spin-off of RWTH Aachen University for the production and marketing of light, flexible and isolating aerogel fibres for high tech applications. The fibres are currently being developed by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Cologne in a joint project together with the Institute for Materials Research. The award presentation took place in the fully occupied coronation hall of Aachen City Hall.
